Greeting Noble Client!!
Welcome to Marc 'Edge' Doyon's business website. Even though I am primarily dedicated to my own projects and conceptual initiatives, I occasionnally accept requests from some Clients wishing to increase their impact on their audience. Find below a few works for them realized over the years.
|
CONCEPTION |
|
Whether for branding, publicity, restaurant menus, poetry, song lyrics, post cards... conception is an exciting and sometime a mind exhausting challenge. It is a mixture of instinct and hard work. |

BREWERY LOGO
In the area where the micro-brewery is, there is a legend about a dinosaur like creature living in the lake beside the mountain. So, the Client gave me the following two parameters for creating his business logo:
- Dinosaur like creature
- Mountain
The name of the micro-brewery being 'La Memphré', I decided to make the dinosaur out of a 'M'. Altogether, it took me twice the amount of time for research than it took me for computer graphic design. This clearly shows the importance of research in the process of creation. |

MEAT SHOP LOGO
In that case, the Client specialized in horse meat and sea food, so I came up with the idea of a sea horse as a logo for his business.

HIP HOP BOUTIQUE LOGO
The Client provided me the following Asian symbol
and told me to Americanize it for a Hip Hop clothing boutique. |

BEAUTY SALON LOGO
Being asked by a client to design some business cards for his mom who is a hairdresser, I designed the logo based on the Salon's initials: the 'S' as hair and the scissors' blades as a 'W'

RESTAURANT MENU
Having noticed a humoristic magazine having two holes in it so the reader could spy on his environment while faking reading, I came up with the idea of making a menu with many holes as a Swiss cheese slice. I kept the idea in inventory and suggested it to a client requesting an original menu for her restaurant a few years later

RESTAURANT MENU
Being entrusted with the conception of an Indian restaurant menu, and not wanting to fall into a cliché, here is what I did:
- Cover: plasticized burgundy cardboard parchment
- Cover text: 'Gold Leaf' metallic window lettering vinyl
- Inside: Genuine Indian fabric stripes

© POEM
Noticing that some dogs are better cared for than humans, I decided to write this poem. Here's a rough translation:
WISH I WAS A DOG
Wish I was a dog
Walking by your side
Eating in your hand
And sleeping at your feet
Wish I was a dog
My head on your knees
Resting on your chest
Your caress on my neck
Wish I was a dog
Having nothing to prove
But only feeling good
And keeping you from danger
I lead a dog's life
Wandering without a collar
Come on! Tell me 'Over here!'
You just have to call! |

SONG LYRICS
In this life, the weakest gets eaten by the strongest. And since there is always someone bigger, I didn't like much the idea of ending up being somebody's meal. At least, not without a fight. That's what inspired me to write this song.

COMPUTER GRAPHIC DESIGN |
|
|
YOU DO have a personality, so should your business. Design influences the way people assess things. Whether for bags, clothing, business cards or highway billboards, design may alter business outcome since it alters its income. |

People only go towards what they see, so visibility is a must. Solutions are numerous: window lettering, business signs, banners, trestles, pennant flags... Keywords: simplicity, identity & style. |

PUBLICITY |
|
|
It's always fun to come up with freshly innovated publicity concepts. Légende Communication enjoys the challenge of creating new and enjoyable publicities, profiled to entertain as much as to inform. This way, people have such fun when they read it that they pass it on to other people. |

CROSSWORDS & PUZZLE-WORDS
These are two new publicity concepts initiated by Légende Communication:
CROSSWORD PUBLICITY
The concept consists in designing a crossword with definitions leading to business theme words. So, the reader searches and ends up discovering words corresponding to the business profile. In this case: ambiance, dessert...
PUZZLE-WORD PUBLICITY
The concept consists in designing a puzzle-word made of business theme words. So, the reader searches and discovers words corresponding to the business' products and services. In this case: aquarium, kittens... And once the client has found the hidden word, he may bring the puzzle-word to the store to get a promotional bonus. There are also placemats and newspapers ad versions. |
|
|
SHARED BUSINESS PUBLICITIES
Another publicity concept innovated by Légende Communication:
CLIENTELE SHARING BILLS
Upon purchase, the consumer is given a local dollar behind which is listed participating businesses. He may then bring that dollar to any of these and get its money's worth as a discount on products or services. And then again receive another dollar there after that transaction and go around to the next store. |

NEWSPAPER ADS

MAGAZINE ADS
This publicity for an Asian restaurant incite lonely people 'not to worry' during the holiday season. Play on words here in French: 'not to make sushi' (but to come eat some at the restaurant).

It is a real honor to have MIRA among my Clients since this company is truly part of the solution. This noble NGO does work exclusively at making people's life better by FREELY providing guide-dogs to the blind and assistance-dog to the disabled. |

Légende Communication's poem turned into a bookmark for MIRA's public fund raising needs helped contribute over $25,000 to Mira. See original below.
